All About Me

From as long as I can remember, I have always had a strong desire to have an impact in society and help people.

I was often motivated by my own experiences as well as the people and cultures around me. I felt strongly and empathetically about things like intersectionality, gender issues, racism and discrimination, young peoples issues, domestic abuse, disability, family issues and more.

As a teenager, my interest in socio-cultural issues, social justice, and understanding human behaviour and emotions continued to grow and I went on to study sociology and psychology in both my GCSE and A-levels.

I decided to continue to pursue these interests at university gaining a BSc in Psychology and Sociology (Hons) and a Masters degree in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (PCECPP).

Qualifications and
Professional Memberships

I have achieved an MA in PCECPP in level Distinction from the University of Nottingham making me a qualified Person-Centred Psychotherapist. I also hold a BSc in Psychology and Sociology (Hons) from Nottingham Trent University.

Shortly after mastering in psychotherapy, I became a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), qualifying for the status of a MNCPS Accredited Psychotherapist.

I am a fully accredited and registered member of the NCPS and thus I am bound by their code of ethics in all of my work and adhere to their ethical frameworks and guidelines. In accordance with these guidelines, I work with an experienced clinical supervisor, undertake yearly CPD, and also engage in peer supervision.

I am also a registered member of The Person-Centred Association (tPCA) as a commitment to the maintenance and development of the person-centred approach, as well as an associate member of the Association of Person-Centred Creative Arts (APCCA) to develop my interest in the therapeutic use of creative arts.

I have been providing therapy for almost 3 years and have currently achieved over 450 counselling hours working with a diverse range of individuals and issues.

I have also facilitated and co-facilitated therapeutic encounter groups with trainee psychotherapists at the University of Nottingham for the past 3 years.

Personal Interests

Outside of therapy, I am interested in art and creativity, particularly the healing similarities between creativity and therapy. Through my own use of art and creativity in my personal life, I have found that there are many therapeutic parallels between the two that support us expressing ourselves, and feeling more connected to an authentic version of who we are.

In my free time I enjoy writing and performing poetry and spoken word, collaging, graffiti journaling, learning to DJ and engaging in various other creative mediums as a way to express and process my own experiences. I have found that expressing and exploring myself in these creative ways has served as a valuable tool alongside therapy, particularly during times when I have not been able to access therapy.

I often work with individuals from marginalized backgrounds and communities but my services are available to everyone.

I have experience working with a diverse range of individuals and issues and I have an interest in working with intergenerational trauma, identity, culture, race, gender, family issues, childhood abuse and trauma and more.

My aim in therapy is to foster an inclusive environment for anyone who feels disempowered in society or in their personal lives by amplifying and empowering their voices.

My interests in therapy are often influenced by my own experiences and I am committed to anti-oppressive practice and creating an inclusive environment for all groups of people.
