  • How do I start sessions?
To start sessions, simply express an interest by contacting me either using the provided contact form or my email. Once I know you are interested, we will arrange a free 30-minute consultation at a suitable time for you. After the consultation, if you are happy with everything discussed, I will email you a therapy contract and an intake form along with my available slots to choose from. Once we have agreed on a regular slot, you are ready for your first session!
  • What is the consultation?
The consultation is an important part of the therapy process. It is a chance for us to learn a bit more about each other and for you to understand how things work and ask any questions you may have. Consultations are free and can be up to 30-minutes long. They are an informal chat via phone call where you can explore your needs so that you feel secure and comfortable with whatever decision you make.
  • What is a therapy contract?
A therapy contract is a written agreement between client and therapist. Your therapy contract will outline your session fee, where you will have sessions, and how often i.e. weekly or bi-weekly. The contract will also contain information around confidentiality and cancellation and will be used to gather general information about you for data handling. Once you sign your contract, you are in agreement with the terms outlined.
  • How often are sessions?
Person-Centred Therapy is recommended to take place over a long term course. In line with this, sessions are currently offered on a weekly basis, however in some circumstances, sessions can take place on a bi-weekly basis instead (every other week). If you would like a one-off session, please contact me to inquire and we can discuss suitability.
  • How many sessions can I have?
How many sessions you would like is completely your choice. It is recommended that if you start therapy you continue the process over a long-term period to fully experience the benefits. However, how long you would like to be in therapy for, and how many sessions you would like, is completely up to you. You have the complete choice to end therapy whenever feels right for you. As a rough idea, the average person tends to have around 20 to 40 sessions on a weekly basis which is between 5 to 10 months. However, this is a rough estimate and the amount of sessions someone has is dependant on them and their individual needs.
  • How do I make payments?
Session payments are required 24 hours before a session. Session payments can be made via bank transfer or PayPal. Bank details will be provided to you in your therapy contract. If no payment is received prior to our session, you may risk your session being terminated. It is recommended that a weekly direct debit payment is set up via bank transfer to avoid missing or forgetting payments. If you would like to arrange a regular payment method instead e.g., paying monthly, please contact me to discuss, otherwise, payments can be made as block bookings of 5 or more sessions (please see my session rates section for more information on block bookings).
  • Is there a cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel a session, it is required that you provide at least 24 hour's notice. Sessions cancelled under 24-hours notice will be liable for the full session amount.
  • What happens if I miss a session?
If you missed a session but you did not cancel the session either, the standard cancelation policy will apply and you will be liable for the full session amount.
  • Where will I have therapy?
Due to changes within my service, I am currently only able to offer online sessions for the time-being. To have online sessions, you will need access to Wi-Fi, a device that has zoom or Teams, and a private room where you can be alone and will not be disturbed. Please continue to revisit my website for any updates on when face-to-face sessions are expected to resume and where these will take place. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions Thank you
