Therapeutic
Approach

Black Background

I focus on a therapeutic method known as Person-Centred Therapy (PCT).

PCT is a non-directive form of talking therapy that prioritizes you, the client, in every session.

This approach ensures you have control over the direction of your sessions, allowing us to explore whatever you choose to bring forward, based on your needs at the moment.

While this may initially feel daunting, it provides you with the freedom to proceed at your own pace, allowing for the exploration of your experiences when you feel comfortable and ready. You won't be pressured to confront anything until you are prepared.

Black Background

Psychotherapy mainly deals with the organisation and functioning of the Self. There are many parts of our Self that are sometimes just too painful or difficult to face alone.

When we explore these parts of our Self in a person-centred space and with a person-centred therapist, you open yourself up to be understood and accepted without feelings of shame, guilt, blame or embarrassment.

When you feel accepted, cared for, and not judged, you end up listening to yourself more clearly as you talk and find acceptance and solutions to your own problems.

Benefits of Person-Centred Therapy

Having someone to confide in

It can be really hard carrying everything alone. Therapy gives you a space to be understood, held and supported. You don't need to keep everything to yourself or do everything alone. You deserve to have space.

City Lights
Your emotions being validated

Your emotions and experiences will be accepted as they are. This will help you to understand what you're experiencing and offer you validation to support healing and acceptance in yourself.

Eyes Closed
Reducing feelings of shame and judgement

Person-Centred Therapy is a non-judgmental environment encouraging you to not judge yourself and reduce feelings of shame, blame, and guilt.

Recognising and owning your power and control

Acknowledging and recognising the power and tools you already have within you will help you to feel more in control of your life, set healthier boundaries, and make choices that feel more authentic to you.

Experiencing connections and deep understanding

Person-Centred Therapy offers you the chance to be deeply and empathically understood from your perspective. This will support you to feel connected with yourself and others.

Experiencing these conditions in a safe and supportive environment will help you to feel unburdened, accepted and listened to.

When you feel that your worldview is acknowledged, it encourages a process of self-acceptance, enabling you to align closely with your needs, feel less overwhelmed, establish healthy boundaries, and thrive.

Being genuinely understood can empower you to recognize your true self. This journey of self-acceptance can lessen feelings of shame or inner conflict and help you to understand your life as a journey, rather than a destination to be reached.

You might begin to view yourself differently and perceive your life experiences from a new angle. This shift in perspective and awareness can facilitate a deeper connection with yourself, help you process past experiences, explore new ways of coping, and appreciate life as an ongoing experience.

What Inspires You?

Something that inspires me

Is the sky.

Gazing deep into the moon,

Wondering why,

My heart aches,

And my chest shudders and breaks,

When I see fairy lights,

In the starry nights,

And flashing memories of my past tribulations and fights,

That haunts and ignites,

My rights in this life.

When I look to the deep blues and blacks,

Of the oceans above,

My soul heaves and cracks

From the loss of never feeling loved or to love.

So I swim with the cold dark winds,

The air stripping my layers of self and skins,

So that I can begin to build,

A new sky from within,

To encourage and call-in,

Lost feelings and beings.

Inspired by my pain,

My pain inspires my poetry,

Freeing emotions and anxiety,

To fuel and motivate my creativity.

Let me gaze into the sky once more...

Deep in thought,

Of all my life left to explore,

With the ache in my heart,

That I choose to turn into art.

What inspires you?
